Our environmental responsibility
We are committ ed to reducing our carbon footprint and impact
on the environment. As part of our new healthy travel plan, we are working to reduce car travel during staff s’ commute and encourage public transport and cycling. Emissions from business travel have fallen, which is partly due to the introducti on of the staff minibus service between our hospitals in Basingstoke and Winchester. We support the cycle to work scheme, park and ride and a staff car lease scheme of newer and greener vehicles through a salary sacrifi ce scheme.
We recognise the importance of sustainability and good corporate citi zenship. We will conti nue to take acti ons to improve sustainability in 2018/19, including:
We are acti vely parti cipati ng in a number of energy effi ciency and reducti on initi ati ves, including installing LED lights across all our hospitals, introducing an energy management system, and reviewing solar energy proposals.
