The annual Puttin’ On The Poodle was held, once again, at Michael’s on East ballroom in Sarasota on Tuesday, November 1 to benefit Florida Poodle Rescue. The silent auction featured unique Poodle-centric items. There were some great getaway prizes for the live auction. Lunch was, of course, delicious. More than 9000 dogs in the past 22 years have been rescued by Florida Poodle Rescue and their loyal volunteers. One volunteer drove from Jacksonville to Sarasota just for the day’s event.

88 THE NEW BARKER
Tampa Parks & Rec hosted their annual Doggie Paddle at Copeland Park on November 5. Dogs fetched balls. Jumped, ran or waded into the pool. Some even tried the slides. We didn’t catch the names of some dogs, as their antics caught the eye of our cam- era (upper left). Then there was Emmie, the little black French Bulldog. She made friends with every dog, hopping across the water to greet them, espe- cially those who had a toy to offer. Copeland Park, 11001 N. 15th St., Tampa.
Cali, a seven-year-old Dalmatian, is daddy’s little girl. “She loves to go on walks,” said her human.
