Soon after Diesel came to live with the
Eorgans, Nate enrolled him in my STK9 Training Company’s Advance Obedience Course, which is a board and train program. When Nate dropped off Diesel, he wasn't very happy about leaving him. I reassured him that Diesel was going to learn how to be a better behaved dog, and that he was in good hands. Nate knew that of course, but was upset that his best friend was not going to be by his side for a while. During this past year, it has been a pleas-
ure working with these two in both obedi- ence and sport protection. Nate is such a car- ing owner, and loves to work with Diesel. They are an amazing team to watch. Diesel has graduated two of our training programs at STK9 Training Company Inc. and Nate was so proud, he was looking to do more with him. As a high drive dog, Nate knew that Diesel still needed a job, and he wanted to work alongside him. I invited Nate to check out the Tampa
Bay Protection Sport Association (PSA) Club. Matt Taylor, another trainer at STK9 Training Company Inc., is the head certified PSA decoy at our club. Diesel was a star stu- dent in the program, quickly learning wanted behaviors. We have also been working on Diesel’s sport level obedience. Nate and Diesel hope to compete for their PDC (Protection Dog Certification) during this upcoming PSA trial season. I could not be more proud of them both. Diesel has taught Nate so much about
friendship and responsibility. Nate has actual- ly paid for all of Diesel’s training services, club dues, toys, vet visits and food. Diesel has become his shadow, following him every- where. They do everything together. The only place that Diesel does not go is to the hospi- tal with Nate. It is like Christmas all over again each time Nate comes home from the hospital. Watching this team grow and seeing
their bond forged even stronger has been an amazing experience to watch. Nate is one of the strongest, most positive people I know, in spite of all he’s been through in his young life. Diesel is his mirror image. Nate and Diesel have reinforced in me that training goals can be accomplished, no matter how difficult the situation, as long as there is motivation. U

“Thanks for taking such good care of Kelsie. I would not trust her with anyone else. I always miss her but do not worry about her.”
