in preserving original decor is evinced by the expansive front porch with Cuban tile; lobby with original terrazzo floor; and red oak floors in the music and former dining room. The original telephone switchboard was on display behind


the check in counter. We were lifted to our second-floor room via the 1926, staff-oper- ated elevator. In the rooms, old world charm is subtly infused with modern conveniences — luxurious, pillow-abundant, king-sized beds and bright, newly-remodeled bathrooms. Amenities: Full break-
