RESCUE IS MY FAVORITE BREED “Daisy is our social butter- fly. She will do anything for treats. She loves children the best. But, her next favorite thing is treats,” said Cherie Wachter, VP of Marketing for Humane Society of Broward County. Blue was an owner-surrender. She has been adopted through the shelter’s Dolly’s Dream program. “A gentleman who lives in Boca Raton under- writes the program by paying for adoptions. He has four Pit Bulls and is working on dispelling the myth that they are bad dogs. Through Dolly’s Dream, we are able to work with animal control and have dogs transported here. The gentleman also provides the basic supplies with the adoption, including food, collar, leash, ID tags, crate, bed, chew toys. He will even pay for obedience classes. We have placed 24 dogs this year alone through the program,” explained Wachter. HSBroward.com
