Mission-Oriented Move to Swaziland.
Spring, an active 12-year-old Border Collie with rheumatoid arthritis, and Nica, a 13-year-old domestic short hair cat, are so adored, their pet parents have songs for them. That is one of the many reasons Kara Hosler and her husband Sid, moved Spring and Nica from Tampa to Swaziland (a small, landlocked country in southern Africa) when they began their mission work a few weeks ago. “As silly as this may sound,
each of the animals has a song that we sing to them. Nica’s song is ‘You Are So Beautiful’ by Joe Cocker. As soon as I start to sing it she starts to purr. Spring's song is 'My Girl‘ by The Temptations, which she loves to howl along with,” Kara said. “I could not have imagined
life without them with us. They are such a part of what makes up our family. Thankfully I didn’t have to. I am very grateful for this,” she added. Hosler asked Desoto Animal Clinic in Bradenton about moving her pets, and they highly recom- mended Air Animal Pet Movers in Tampa. “They advised us not to try doing this on our own, and if
possible, to have Dr. Woolf at Air Animal, arrange the testing and paperwork necessary for the country to which we were moving. Our vet spoke very highly of their professionalism, timeliness and the completeness of all necessary paperwork,” Hosler said. The veterinarian went on to explain that the clinic does not deal with specific pet import paperwork every day, but Air Animal does and would make sure their pets’ departure happened on time, reliev- ing a lot of stress on everyone. “Bottom line, save yourself the time and stress doing what is
needed. Air Animal does it right and well. It is what they do. We viewed the added expense as an investment in assuring that our pets made it safely. The move was incredibly smooth. The com-
Y
munication between Jessica at Air Animal and our South African connection was great. What was amazing to us was that Spring and Nica were both completely relaxed after their 9000-mile, three-day trip. We were so very pleased. It was more than just a working relationship. They invested in us, in Spring and Nica. It really made all the difference in the world to us.”
United Kingdom Pet Move Update Jessica, Dr. Woolf and the Air Animal pet moving team
live by the motto Pet Moving Made
Easy. They stay on top of pet import rules that can change without notice. To avoid delays and unexpected short-term quarantine, Air Animal now recommends the following UK checklist: 1. Microchip the pet for identification purposes with a 15-digit ISO chip 2. Certify a current rabies vaccination. If your pet enters the UK with a current 3-year rabies vaccination which is more than one year old, then additional documentation will be required. Please inquire for details. 3. At least 21 days after the most recent rabies vaccination, book an appointment with your veterinarian to issue an interna- tional pet health certificate. Your veterinary appointment for the international health certificate must be within 10 days of flight arrival in the UK. 4. The next step is USDA export endorsement. 5. Dogs must be treated for internal parasites within 24-120 hours before flight arrival. 6. There are no requirements for treating dogs, cats or ferrets for external parasites. “There is no longer a requirement for the rabies antibody test (FAVN-OIE) or for six months to pass after the blood test before pets enter the UK from the USA,” Dr. Woolf said.
Whether you’re traveling across country or around the world, let Air Animal handle all the details, ensuring a stress-free experience for you and your pet. Offices in Tampa (813.879.3210) and Orlando (407.985.4676).
