95 Family Fun at the Festival
Everyone is welcome at the festival and especially children as they may well be the chefs of the future. So bring them along to cook, taste, buy and learn all about the food they eat.
Thursday 20th October sees the return of our dedicated Children’s Day. Organised by Café Alf Resco (one of our fabulous sponsors) invited school-children from the local primary schools get involved in a series of hands-on workshops in the Royal Avenue Gardens. Following this at 4.30pm there is a Children’s Tea Party open to all where many of our local producers come together to provide some tantalising tasters for local and visiting youngsters.
The Community Café in the Old Market Square will be hosting a series of demonstrations and activities for children including fudge making, story-telling and foodie related activities. These are free of charge but numbers
are limited so please reserve your place by calling 07794 521194. See website for more details.
Get up and cook – a demonstration for children will be held in our Demonstration Kitchen in the Royal avenue Gardens on saturday morning at 9.30am. so join David Jones, past Chair of the Food Festival and co-owner of Manna from Devon Cooking School together with Jenny Chandler from the Plum Cooking Company for some fun in the kitchen. Free of charge and no booking necessary – just turn up.
Guess the mystery flavour ice cream at the Dartmouth Ice Cream vintage-style ice cream bike in the Market Car Park Marquee – always great fun.

World Chilli Chucking Challenge - Situated in the Market Car Park Marquee expect lots of fun and laughter as adults and children test their throwing skills in this hot & spicy chilli challenge!
From 21st – 23rd October, Coast and Country Cottages and Cafe Alf Resco will be hosting our Family Area in the Royal Avenue Gardens. There’ll be lots of family friendly activities including face-painting, biscuit decorating and arts and crafts for children of all ages.
