A recent poll conducted by Wine and Spirit Trade Association (WSTA) found that wine is considered the most popular alcoholic drink for 60% of UK adults, an amazing turn around considering not so long ago wine was thought to be drunk only by connoisseurs! Today it is suggested that there are 30 million wine drinkers in the UK – goodness that is a lot! Since refurbishing our cellar 12 months ago and
increasing the range of wines we sell, we have met many interesting people from all walks of life. Having our cellar buzzing with conversation over sampling a glass of wine has been the most enjoyable aspect of running the business. people who have an appetite to learn; the forthcoming brilliant Dartmouth Food Festival helps to sate some of this keenness to expand our interests and at Michael Sutton’s Cellar we hope to assist further by creating entertaining tasting events that provide opportunities for people to delve into the world of wine.
