Unless otherwise stated all events will take place in the Drinks Theatre, Browns Hotel, 27-29 Victoria Road.
Friday 21st October
12.00 – 12.45pm : Languedoc-Roussillon Tasting : Master of Wine Liam Steevenson, festival favourite, renowned independent wine merchant and ex-Waitrose wine buyer talks you through a tasting of wines that he believes define one of the world’s most fascinating wine regions. Liam will also be introducing some of his own wines he is developing in France. £8 per person.
2.00 – 2.45pm : Champagne Drappier with Guillaume Rodet : Drappier’s fine Champagnes from urville (an area where Pinot Noir thrives) are world-famous for their elegant, notably dry style, with little addition of sugar. We are delighted to have M. Rodet from this famous Champagne house who will guide you through the tasting. £10 per person with canapés to match.
3.30 – 4.15pm : Think you know sherry? Think again! : a gastronomic tour of the world of sherry led by Fiona Beckett of The Guardian and
matchingfoodandwine.com and susy atkins of the sunday Telegraph. a seminar with a difference, where your taste buds will be challenged and surprised. £8 per person to include light bites. supported by sherry Wines uK (

5.00 - 7.00pm : Wine Uncorked at Browns! a new informal session at Browns Hotel bar, with free tapas and many of the festival’s wine experts and drinks speakers present. Come along and mingle, sip and chat wine over a glass or two. No ticket price just turn up, buy a drink at the bar and enjoy the convivial atmosphere.
6.30 – 8.00pm : Beer and Food Matching in The Guildhall: sponsored and hosted by the Royal Castle Hotel. enjoy an evening of international street cuisine with a beer to match each course. ankur Biswas will take you on a journey around the world using his knowledge of spices and exotic flavours to seamlessly compliment the flavours in your glass. £20 per person.
Saturday 22nd October
12.00 – 12.45pm : Off The Beaten Track: Wonderful Wines from Undiscovered Regions : This tasting by The Kingsbridge Wine Room will introduce you to a number of wines which deliver great drinking pleasure but come from unusual and little known regions. We aim to prove that by avoiding the big names and popular regions you really can drink better wine for less. £8 per person.
1.30 – 2.30pm - Sensational Matches for Seafood : The festival’s annual, anarchic, popular food and wine matching forum with The Guardian’s wine columnist Fiona Beckett, the master merchant to The seahorse, sommelier Tim McLaughlin-Green, and wine writer Susy Atkins. This year we will be trying to ‘net’ the best matches, both traditional and more adventurous, for a range of delicious seafood. Come along, taste and join in the lively tasting and discussion. £10 per person to include small tastings of seafood.
