eally I mean it – literally. And not just in the way that we will not be able to resist all the fabulous foods at the Food Festival. Just


imagining what delights you can sample and then buy, will, as they say, get the taste buds flowing. Food fads come and go with the ability of a famous


chef to have us scurrying to the market to buy cranberries, coconut water (eugh) or some fabulous oil made with the ancient secrets passed down by monks. We like a back story to a new product these days. We are keen to know the history and journey of all the ingredients. No longer do we pop into the supermarket and willy nilly pluck a bottle or jar of anything of the shelf: we choose the one that has had the most publicity and romance attached to it. Food that is locally grown


enthusiasm just feet away from you. After your initial tasting, it will be the quality that


keeps you coming back for more. It is your duty to taste as many foods as possible during this week so forget your figure and dive in. Do some multi tasking and do your Christmas shopping at the Food Festival. So, here we are dreaming of beer and cakes and cheese while we battle our weakened flesh! Although we may spend hours honing the outsides of our mortal coil, it’s what’s bubbling away underneath that counts. If you have sunbathed excessively, are approaching or have reached the dreaded ‘certain’ age – and that can be any old time totally dependant on what the devil decides - then you will have noticed that your flesh is not quite as firm as it once was. sadly, this is how the cookie crumbles. As I have said many times before, it is never ever too late or too early to be looking after yourself inside and out. So what to do, what to do?

Use the stairs at work or in your home as an exercise aid and go up and down a set number of times depending on how


many you have. I admit its boring so just do it and stop complaining! You know you can think while you exercise so solve some of your trying problems while pounding the stairs. Instead of slumping in a chair to watch people garden or paint their houses or treat their ‘below stairs staff’ badly, stand up and do some arm exercises with light weights such as bottles of water or cans. Or invest a few pounds in a Dyna band and look up the exercises on the internet. You get the picture. Of course if you have a child then the
