Lisa Mannon, senior sales manager for Chauncey, said groups that need a dedi- cated environment to host their meet- ings, training and seminars will find the property is quiet, distraction-free, has videoconferencing capabilities and can provide audio recordings of meetings. Employees are certified guest service professionals, having earned that title through the American Hotel and Lodging Educational Institute, through which they undergo continuous cus- tomer service training during the year.


“Our guestrooms have a balcony or patio that opens onto a courtyard or sce- nic view,” said Mannon. "We have four fireplaces for great ambience through- out the conference center.When you’re at Chauncey, it feels like you’re at home.”


Chauncey offers 12meeting rooms rang- ing in size from 1,848-square feet (the largest) to smaller meeting spaces of 368-square feet. Ten executive rooms work well for one-to-six-person meet- ings, and they are perfect for law firms, human resources interviews, writing and more.


The Laurie House is used for small boardmeetings, strategy sessions,and as


part of team building packages. For a refreshing change, planners can host social and corporate events in the Garden Pavilion,which is available from May through the end of October. The CBar is a glass-enclosed bar area that also offers access to patio dining.


New Developments and Renovations


Many meeting-focused facilities are building on their stellar venues by adding, renovating and beautifying their spaces.


The Franklin Institute opened its 53,000- square foot Nicholas and Athena Karabots Pavilion in June. This $41 mil- lion dollar pavilion was named in honor of the lead donors whose commitment to science and technology education brought the project to fruition.The new building has transformed The Franklin Institute’s meeting space.


The three-story expansion is home to a state-of-the-art conference center and tranquil rain garden,9,500-square feet of climate-controlled exhibit space,and the museum’s new exhibition: Your Brain.


“We have a new,one-of-a-kind space that is International Association of Confer- ence Centers (IACC)-certified with state- of-the-art audio-visual equipment, two breakout spaces with full audio-visual capability, and a self-sustaining rain gar- den entrance,”said DeGiovanni.“We offer award-winning cuisine from our exclu- sive caterer, Frog Commissary, and dedi- cated concierge service during each event.”


The new Laureates Conference Center, with its own private rain garden entrance, is eye-catching and perfect for business.
