Utilized for a wide range of performances and events from Broadway musicals to fully staged operas, the Academy of Music is the oldest opera house still in use for its original purpose.

Rodger goes on to explain why the Kimmel Center and the Academy of Music serve as great options for a planner or group that is looking for a unique attraction for their next function. “We often do group pack- ages for events. These groups will enjoy not only a nice reception catered by our part- ner Garces Events by Chef Jose Garces, but they also will enjoy a wonderfully staged performance. It is possible to have a tour of not only the Academy of Music, but of the Kimmel Center, as well. The Academy of Music Ballroom is suitable for weddings, bar/bat mitzvahs and corporate events. Its stunning architecture and the design of the roomreally do bring you back to old world entertaining."

Marketing manager for Brûlée Catering by Chef Jean-Marie Lacroix,Marina Harrison, discusses the various venues her catering company works with to provide fun, unique and interesting experiences for those groups who are looking to spice up their next event.

“Moulin at Sherman Mills, nestled in the busting East Falls Arts Community area, is Brûlée’s newest and most versatile venue,” says Harrison.“It is a former Civil War-era textile mill with 20,000-square feet of flexi- ble event space characterized by vintage natural stone exterior, concrete floors, lofty interior, striking columns, giant iron-framed windows and an exposed beam ceiling.”

Able to accommodate large-scale events of over 750 guests, Moulin at Sherman Mills has a central location convenient to both Center City and the Main Line, and the space is ideal for expos, art exhibits, trade shows and more.

“Because Moulin is a dedicated event space not serving in any other daytime capacity, it allows for load-in/load-out and set-up flexibility that other venues can’t offer," notes Harrison. "Clients can have access a day or two prior to bring in vendors and begin staging, with additional flexibility to break down the next day, post- event.”
