Staff moved the entire hospital from their previous Safety Harbor location to a brand new, state-of-the-art facili- ty in Clearwater, just off of SR 580. Community Involvement. The hospital staff has been
busy with their involvement in supporting Senior Pet Connection through fundraising events, and a donation kiosk in the lobby. “Senior Pet Connection was created in 2012 to offer
support to low-income senior citizens with the care and feed- ing of their pets,” said Judy Baum, practice manager at Metzler Veterinary Hospital. In addition to delivering pet food, Senior Pet Connection provides free kitty litter, potty pads, toys, treats, bedding, and flea preventatives. The all-volunteer run service also works with Bay Area veterinarians such as Dr. Metzler to assist in providing vaccines and veterinary care as needed. “It is a service that is greatly filling a need in Pinellas
County,” said Judy. “Keeping pets and their families together is so important to the health and well-being of everyone involved. Not to mention that the service is helping to lower owner surrenders at Bay Area shelters and animal services.”
Metzler Veterinary Hospital also offers daycare, boarding and a full service grooming salon. Located at 2720 Summerdale Drive, Clearwater. 727.669.7221.
