SPN DEC 2012 ShowReview

PISCINE 2012, LYON, FRANCE

EnviroPro range from Waterco

brand identity for the company, but they were showing their new concept for hot tub chemical treatment. Their new range of Spa Time products will benefit from simple, clear and modern packaging to make consumers feel less intimidated about buying spa care products – a great idea.

In addition, at the show they also signed an agreement for Pollet Pool Group now to become their exclusive distributor in the UK. When speaking with Jürgen Koenig, Director of Marketing & Development at Bayrol, it was clear to see there are some very exciting times ahead for the company.

Another well-known name from the UK market was Waterco Europe who along with their French colleagues, occupied an impressive stand in Hall 4. With dozens of items on display covering a wide range of products, located in the heart of their stand, it was their EnviroPro range of environmentally friendly products which caught the eye. The range consists of ‘a select number of high quality, energy efficient and award-winning water saving products’ and has been introduced to reduce maintenance and make it easier for owners to save water and energy. In Hall 6, Filters4Spas reported that they had had one of their best days ever at a show – so good in fact that they wished it had never ended! In this hall you could also find a large Fonteyne Spas stand, so combined with their Passion Spa vehicle at the entrance to the show, they had a

huge overall presence. A number of other hot tub companies also exhibited in Hall 6 including Arctic Spas, Dimension One and Artesian Spas. Aqua Technology Group had products from their three main brands – Hydro Floors, Pool Technics and Ocea and they reported an impressive level of quality enquiries from visitors. Other companies in this hall included IPC Pool Enclosures with an inspiring range of products on display, water testing company Palintest and water treatment company Aquafinesse who were delighted to report a new distribution deal with SCP.

The truth is, there are so many companies at Piscine, it’s hard to mention them all here, let alone see them all during the exhibition. The amount of products at the show is mind blowing. Add the seminars and workshops that I’ve not even touched upon and it means that if you’ve never been, it truly is an inspiring place to visit. In addition, many of the exhibitors I spoke to we’re impressed with the numbers of visitors and quality of enquires and a number had signed actual business on the show floor. As this edition of SPN goes to press, the Piscine team will be collating the facts and figures for the show, so it will be interesting to see what the official report says and in turn, what that means for the wider industry. Much like at LIW earlier in the year, optimism seemed to be in the air which can only be a good thing as we head into 2013. spn
