building cannot be moved without a key, adding extra security to the enclosure. The large hand wheels allow the fixings to be easily removed, this makes opening the enclosure quick and simple on warmer days.

The roof sections of each bay are glazed with a high tech polycarbonate with a double wall cell structure to aid temperature stability. This is achieved by limiting heat loss and maximising internal reflection of heat in the enclosure. The roof section has been increased to a 10mm thick twin wall polycarbonate, surpassing the industry standard of 6mm. This polycarbonate roof sheet has a ‘U’ value of 3.1w/m2k. Resisting impact damage it’s the high strength option, having all the good looks of multi-wall roofing. Mould and algae are dramatically reduced by using a ‘no-drop’ coating which limits the formation of condensation droplets. The twin wall material allows excellent light transmission levels (clear=80%) and with a minimal weight of 1.7kg sq/m, so ensuring the building does not become too heavy. Enclosures are made from extruded aluminium sections. The side walls are glazed with 6mm high quality glass clear acrylic. As well as this light-weight, easy to maintain and very durable material, the Endless Summer structure is strong enough to allow an upgrade to a toughened glass side wall option. For certain applications like restaurant terraces; toughened glass adds a level of quality to the building.

SUMMIT LEISURE STEPS UP OPTIONS FOR RANGE OF ENCLOSURE BUYERS Algarve is a name which continues to attract buyers of a wide range of enclosure options from Summit Leisure.

Graham Kelsey from Summit continues to develop and refine the range.

The market, he says, is certainly still built around pool owners looking to extend the use of their pools and enjoy the whole pool experience more. Enclosures also he stresses have a big role to play in providing reassurance on pool safety. “I don’t think anyone should underestimate the great benefit enclosures bring to giving complete re-assurance on added safety around the pool much more than a pool cover can provide.” Summit sees the market in three areas. One part of the market which continues to do well is the aluminum/glass low enclosures which have become very popular. These high quality enclosures offer the opportunity to swim underneath for a cost range of between £11,000 and £15,000.

Summit is offering something new with another of the market sectors – a retractable enclosure with a sliding roof.

“People often don’t bother sliding the enclosure back so offering a sliding roof is a great option.” This section of the market he says also includes

the growing tendency towards swim spas where the provision of a quality retractable roof can provide a top range swim spa under an enclosure for something in the region of £35,000. “I think this is something we’ll see more of,” adds Graham.

Finally, there’s the top end of the market where schools, hotels and holiday camps want to provide under cover swimming and these sizes of enclosures go up to 22 ft.

“These enclosures are not only used for pools, the Algarve and VisioPool units are increasingly being specified for restaurants and other entertaining areas where an open air facility is wanted but, uncertain weather conditions and a short summer season dictate, a substantial but easily moved shelter is required.”
