PeopleNews OCT 2012 SPN CARL PORTER ARRIVES TO RUN POLLET UK
Carl Porter has been named as the Divisional Manager in charge of the Pollet Pool Group’s UK pools division. The Belgium based Pollet Water Group has over 30 years’ experience in the specialist pool market. Its UK division, Pollet UK, is one of a number of subsidiaries including Spain, Portugal, Turkey and Ireland.
Carl arrives at Pollet with three decades experience in the specialist swimming pool industry, learning his trade working in the family pool construction business Aquabuild Ltd, before a recent spell with Cresta Leisure Ltd.
A well known figure, Carl has been President of the British Swimming
Pool Federation, serving on a number of committees and trade councils. He said: “With the benefit of the support from our Belgium parent company Pollet UK will look to strengthen that support for our existing customers and welcoming new customers to those same exceptional standards of superior products and services over the coming months.”
Pollet is strictly a trade-only supplier for pool and spa businesses. The parent group whose headquarters are in Waregem in Belgium has been supplying both component parts and complete systems to companies specialised in the field of water treatment
PROJECT MANAGER JOINS DRÖM UK
The surge in new exclusive design projects has led Dröm UK, specialist in luxury saunas, steam rooms and steam showers, to appoint Darren Hopkins, 24, as their new Project Manager. He will work with the sales and senior management team to ‘promote, secure, design, and manage the installation of Dröm UK products’. His role includes attending initial enquiry and design meetings, quantifying products, ordering materials, scheduling staff and directing the installation of services or products according to precise specifications.
Darren said: “The Project Manager
is responsible for the overall management of individual projects ensuring it is completed on time and within budget. It’s a challenge and one which I am rising to!”
His previous professional experience includes work with architects, designers and high-end consumers with two well known luxury stone and tile companies. NEW SALES DIRECTOR AT TOPLINE ELECTRONICS
Topline Electronics Limited, the water systems specialists have appointed Barry Humphries as new Sales Director. He will head up the sales team at the UK’s largest manufacturer of
swimming pool chemical control equipment and ancillary products based in East Sussex.
Barry joins Topline with 30 years’ experience in the pool industry, working in both public and private sectors, and most recently Siemens, one of the world’s largest engineering manufacturing companies.
Topline, based in Hailsham, offers a wide range of pool controllers, chemical dosing packages, ultra- violet generation and energy saving LED underwater lights.
