One of the most positive and unexpected pieces of PR for the industry came with the revelation that it seems if you want friends and neighbours to know you’ve made it, invest in a hot tub.
According to a new report, people in Britain believe possessing a hot tub rockets the owner to the top of the social food chain.
The luxury hot tub item topped a list of ultimate status symbols for both men and women, with 69% citing it as proof someone had made it – closely followed by a US style fridge and a walk-in wardrobe. “The hot tub seems to be the ultimate ‘you’ve made it’ product. They are seen as luxurious, high value and I think there’s something about them which makes people rather envious,” said a research spokesman. When the genders were divided,
however, the difference between the sexes crept in.
It was revealed that modern women believe the ultimate status symbol is a walk-in wardrobe, with 45% choosing a giant wardrobe as their status symbol, while for men, music speakers in every room of the house speak volumes, with 34% naming them a must-have. The results from a new survey reveal how household tastes have changed with the times.
In the 1950s, a toaster and foam sofa were the most desired household items, while for the swinging 60s it was the washing machine.
As many as 43% admitted they had ‘gadget envy’ with those under 34 more susceptible than their elders. One in five said they love to show off their latest household purchases when friends and family visited.
DEALERS SOUGHT TO DEVELOP AQUAZZI HOT TUBS IN THE UK

JACUZZI’S HYDROTHERAPY COMES TO THE AID OF TRIATHLETES
