ABRISUD OFFERS OWNERS MAXIMUM FLEXIBILITY

When Nick Allen of Trowbridge, Wiltshire chose the Abrisud pool cover from Aquaflex he thought he had found the ideal enclosure to suit his needs but when the building was delivered Nick realised there was a problem. “I am wheelchair bound,” Nick told Swimming Pool News, “and in order to manoeuvre myself into the pool I have to get my chair into the right position and then pull myself across the pool surround and into the pool. To do this there can be nothing jutting out from the door area of the enclosure to the pool itself and with the door open there was still a 100mm lip at the base of the door that I would have had trouble in getting over.”

Enter the technical wizardry of Aquaflex’s Terry Wickham who loaded the complete building back on the lorry and returned to the Aquaflex warehouse to work on a solution. “What we actually did,” said Terry, “was to do away with the lip at the base of the door, bring the door itself forward and down so it fitted flush to the ground. We then strengthened the re-design by bracing with extra struts each side of the door, modified the fixings and were left with a building that was every bit as strong and secure as Nick had wanted and without the difficulty of the lip.”

Happily the 4.5m x 11.5m semi- telescopic enclosure is now in place and in regular use. “I am very pleased with what Aquaflex did to make the building more easily accessible for me and to take the complete thing back to base and redesign the door area was impressive. It works really well and does exactly what I wanted so I am more than happy with it.”

“Abrisud is the perfect answer to so many aspects of pool use, from extending the season to the vitally important safety aspect,” added Nick.

AQUAFLEX ANNOUNCE NEW 2012 ABRISUD DESIGN

Aquaflex has been busy with its new 2012 design this summer – the latest addition to a popular range. The Abrisud pool cover is one of the most versatile and attractive on the market. New features of this design include a new colour and the versatility of the building has been increased with a double horizontal wheel fixing which feeds the moving section into the correct position to make opening and closing the cover easier still. Other telescopic enclosures can only ‘telescope’ from one end, but with the up-to-the-minute Abrisud this can be carried out from either end. Aquaflex have been selling the Abrisud pool enclosure for over 12 years and problems are few and far between due to the exacting design and quality of the materials used.

CERTIKIN ENJOYS SUCCESS IN 2012 WITH TRACKLESS RANGE OF ENCLOSURES Certikin’s versatile Endless Summer telescopic enclosures have benefited this year from the launch

of a trackless model that takes the custom-built telescopic enclosures to a new level of versatility. The trackless system (suitability is dependent on a site survey) glides the building back to its lockdown position. The enclosure consists of a fixed end bay that is permanently attached to the ground, plus a series of moveable bays that slide underneath each other as the enclosure is opened. The pool enclosure is made up of a series of modular components which can be integrated to ensure that the enclosure can accommodate almost any shaped pool, pool surround materials and adjoining buildings. The flexibility of the design and its adaptability will respond to the most creative and imaginative plans. Certikin’s custom designs include telescopic, fixed, lean-to, low level and centre opening models. Folding concertina doors allow complete full width access into the enclosure in seconds. The new stylish secure doors add an extra element of safety and the unique runner design ensures easy opening and a lockable access door. There is also an option of additional lockable hinged or sliding access doors that can be locked into a ventilation position. Sliding window options are now available for extra ventilation requirements, particularly handy if you have a prevailing wind direction.
