Plumbing
Level 1 Introduction to Building Services – Plumbing (TBS14270) This is a one-year course of full-time study. You will gain practical skills and technical knowledge to enable you to progress onto higher level qualifi cations or to fi nd work in the plumbing industry. Entry requirements: You will have an interview with a course tutor. The course requires you to produce written work and mathematical calculations, so you should ideally have a GCSE at grade D or above. Possible next steps: City & Guilds Level 2 in Plumbing. Length of course (weeks): 36 Hours per week: 16 (over three days a week)
City & Guilds 6129-22 Level 2 Certifi cate in Basic Plumbing Studies
(TBS11160) This course teaches you about the basics of the plumbing trade. You will develop basic pipe-work skills using a range of materials. As your skills develop, you will progress onto more complex plumbing tasks such as bathroom suites, airing cupboards, central heating systems, above ground sanitation and working with lead. Entry requirements: You will have an interview with a course tutor. This course is suitable for people wishing to gain employment in the plumbing industry. Possible next steps: Employment and / or the City & Guilds 6129-33 Level 3 Certifi cate in Domestic Plumbing Studies or the NVQ Level 2 in Plumbing. Length of course (weeks): 36 Hours per week: 16 (over two days a week)

City & Guilds 6129-33 Level 3 Certifi cate in Domestic Plumbing
Studies (TBS41177) This is an advanced level qualifi cation that proves to employers that you have the technical knowledge and understanding to work at industry standards. You will study systems planning, complex hot and cold water systems, sanitation, gas, central heating systems and associated electrical control wiring. Entry requirements: You will have an interview with a course tutor. Prospective students are required to pass an initial assessment and should be working in the plumbing industry and already hold a level 2 Certifi cate or NVQ in plumbing. Possible next steps: NVQ Level 3 in Plumbing. Length of course (weeks): 36 Hours per week: 12 (over two days a week)
