AAT Level 3 Diploma in Accounting
Intermediate (BUS40171.2.a1 evening) This course introduces more complicated accounting tasks. To achieve the award you must complete seven mandatory units which cover: the preparation of fi nal accounts for sole traders and partnerships, how to maintain cost accounting records and how to prepare reports and returns. Assessment is through portfolio, skills tests and examinations. Day or evening options available. Entry requirements: Successful completion of Accounts Foundation AAT (NVQ level 2). There is also a College interview and assessment. Possible next steps: Accounts Technician AAT (NVQ level 4), university or employment. Length of course (weeks): 36 Hours per week: 6
AAT Level 3 Diploma for Accounting Technicians Intermediate (BUS10137
daytime) Designed for people who have completed the Foundation course (see page 15) or who are already working within an accounting or related environment. You will study fi nancial records, costing, reports and returns. If you have related course experience, this may be accredited. Entry requirements: Successful completion of AAT Accounts Foundation NVQ level 2. Possible next steps: AAT Accounts Technician NVQ4 – offered at the College, Higher Education or employment. ACCA Fundamentals (BUS62272) These qualifi cations comprise 9 papers, divided into two subject areas. The papers include: accountant in business, management accounting, fi nancial accounting, corporate and business law, performance management, taxation, fi nancial reporting, audit and assurance and fi nancial management. Entry requirements: AAT level 3 or equivalent. Possible next steps: Advanced units. Length of course (weeks): 36 Hours per week: 12
AAT Level 4 Diploma in Accounting
(BUS40188 evening) The course is delivered in modules, covering the following units: drafting fi nancial statements for limited companies, performing complex management accounting tasks and developing management skills. Assessment is through portfolio, skills tests and examinations. Entry requirements: Successful completion of Accounts Intermediate AAT NVQ (level 3). There is also a College interview and assessment.
