Computing City & Guilds Level 1 Certifi cate for IT
Users – ITQ (INT11958) This one-year course is designed for ESOL students who have achieved a level of fl uency in English and who are interested in a career using information technology. ESOL is combined with a computing qualifi cation. Entry requirements: ESOL entry level 2. Possible next steps: Progression to level 2 or further training. Length of course (weeks): 36 Hours per week: 14.5
City & Guilds Level 2 Certifi cate for IT
Users - ITQ (INT11957) You will study this ITQ course at a more advanced level. It will prepare you for work in an offi ce environment where the main IT application packages are used. Entry requirements: ESOL entry level 3 and/or IT Level 1. Possible next steps: Employment. Length of course (weeks): 36 Hours per week: 15.5
Level 2 BTEC Diploma in IT (INT10146) This is a one-year level 2 course that prepares you for further study or employment. Most learners progress to do a Level 3 course in IT. Entry requirements: 4 GCSEs at grade D or BTEC Level 1 qualifi cation. Possible next steps: Further Education or employment. Length of course (weeks): 36 Hours per week: 12
Level 3 BTEC Extended Diploma in IT
(INT30114) The Extended Diploma is a two-year level 3 course and it prepares you for further academic study or to enter employment as a small business computer systems developer. Depending on your interest and performance in the fi rst year, you will join either the software development pathway or the IT and business pathway for the second year. Entry requirements: 4 GCSEs at grade C or Level 2 BTEC Diploma in IT. Possible next steps: Higher Education or employment. Length of course (weeks): 72 Hours per week: 17

Higher National Certifi cate / Diploma (HNC/D) Computing and Systems
Development (INT64304) On this Higher Education course, you will learn a broad range of areas of computing. Units covered include: business skills for e-commerce, computer systems, employability and professional development, project design, implementation and evaluation, system analysis and design, data analysis and design, human computer interaction, website design and management, programming, e-commerce strategy, information systems, digital images, data structures and algorithms, quality systems in IT and spreadsheet modeling. Entry requirements: 2 A Levels or computing qualifi cation at Level 3 and/or appropriate experience in the subject area. Possible next steps: A higher level qualifi cation, professional qualifi cation or a supervisory/managerial role in the workplace. Length of course (weeks): 36 for HNC and a further 36 for HND. Hours per week: 12
