Level 2 Diploma in Professional Level 1 NVQ Certifi cate in Hospitality


Services with ESOL (LCH12034) This is an introductory course into the hospitality industry for people who speak English as a second language. The course will embed ESOL Entry 3 as a part of your training and you will achieve an NVQ Level 1 in hospitality alongside your ESOL qualifi cation. Entry requirements: College interview or entry level 1 in catering. Possible next steps: Hospitality NVQ level 2. Length of course (weeks): 36 Hours per week: 12.5


Level 1 Hospitality and Catering


Certifi cate (VRQ) (LCH14266) This course is designed for people who wish to embark on a career as a professional chef in the Catering and Hospitality sector. You will be expected to prepare and cook a range of commodities whilst the investigative and theoretical units provide a broad understanding of all kitchen operations. This qualifi cation is achieved with a combination of practical assignments and externally set assignments. Entry requirements: English and maths at grade D or above. Possible next steps: Level 2 Diploma in Professional Cookery or NVQ Professional Cookery. Length of course: 36 weeks Hours per week: 12.5

Cookery (VRQ) (LCH14270) This course is designed for people who wish to further their knowledge and skills as a professional chef in the Catering and Hospitality sector. You will be expected to prepare and cook a range of commodities whilst the investigative and theoretical units provide a broad understanding of all kitchen operations. This qualifi cation is achieved with a combination of practical assignments and externally set assignments. Entry requirements: Level 1 Diploma in Introduction to Professional Cookery or NVQ Level 1 in Food Preparation and Cooking. Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Professional Cookery (Preparation and Cooking)


(LCH31952) This part-time course is designed for people who are working in a professional kitchen and wish to achieve a formal qualifi cation. You will be assessed in our realistic working environment, Open Kitchen. Entry requirements: You must be employed and have a professional approach to food preparation and cooking. Possible next steps: Level 3 Professional Cookery. Length of course: 36 weeks Hours per week: 8
