Inner Wheel
Hilldene Shopping Centre 10-Dec-2011
S
aturday the 10th. December 2011
and once again the
Inner Wheel Christmas collection was blessed with great weather. The sun was shining brightly as, just before 10am., Jim drew up in the car with the sleigh riding majestically behind. The new wheel on the front of the sleigh meant that it was in position at the Hilldene Shopping Centre within seconds. Within minutes Santa's little helpers in the form of Pat and Carol (who had been eagerly awaiting Santa's arrival since 9am)were busy shaking buckets. The sun was shining but it was mighty cold especially if you were in the shade. Such was the excite- ment caused by the arrival of the sleigh that we had one dear lady putting a ten pound note into the bucket before we were fully set up with music playing. Santa's little elf (Pat) had decorated the sleigh with bright Christmassy cloths and an assortment of brightly wrapped Christmas Boxes. A nice touch!
A few minutes later President Janet
arrived and our first session was up and running. We were quite busy for most of the
55
morning and early afternoon but as it started to get colder and quieter Santa and his helpers decided to take Rudolf home at about
2.30.pm. President Janet would like to thank all those Rotarians that helped
Brian, George, Raymond Leach and Jim,
Lesley and her husband Ted, Carol, and Pat for their support and hard work.
