Meeting 18-Aug-2011 Speaker Katie Milton
Head of Development and Administration Queens Theatre
W
hen we first put on the Playathon at the Queens
Theatre a few years ago PP Norman gave me the name of a young lady who he said might be able to help in organising the event. The lovely voice at the end of the telephone was most helpful and with the help of this unknown per- son we were able to put on our successful music event in the foyer of the Queens Theatre.
O
n the
18th.August
we were visited by the person behind the voice, the delightful Katie Milton, who is Head of Development and Administration at the Queens Theatre in Hornchurch.
T
o begin her talk Katie showed us a slide presentation of a previous
production, she then outlined the planned project for 2013 when the Theatre will be putting on a production, written from comments and stories from local people and performed by local amateurs. This will be about the history of the Queens Theatre going back to when the original theatre was opened some 60 years ago.
(I remember visiting the old theatre in
Hornchurch before I was married. The
theatre was situated then on the corner where the Lloyds's
TSB bank now is.) President George Larkey 5
