here is a well known saying that "If you want to get ahead get a hat".
haven't a clue what it means but fellow Rotarian Raymond Leach obviously does.Whilst on holiday in Madeira he was
thinking about his Rotary friends and in particular his Revered President when he espied a certain piece of 'fetching' headgear. In a flash of inspiration he thought how nice his President would look in said headgear whilst doing the Christmas collections and purchased it for his beloved leader. This was duly presented to me on his return ,together with another gift for Mrs. President. After some encourage- ment the headgear was donned and a photographs was taken .I thought the ribald laughter was a bit over the top
and I could not work out why Raymond was collecting money from everyone on his table. Nevertheless I think this was very thoughtful of him and this obviously shoots him up the ladder and puts him in the running for 'Rotarian of the Year'. On returning home I presented Mrs. President with her gift from Raymond which was a pair of beautifully embroidered tea towels.
