Annual Chelmer Bridge 'Fish Night'
O
n Thursday 8th. September
President George and his wife, Inner Wheel President Janet, together with Rotarian David Fell and his wife Rita, attended the Annual Chelmer Bridge 'Fish Night' held at the Shed in West Mersea .
T I
he members and visitors
were greeted outside the Shed with a glass of wine and oysters as the sun was setting over this interesting and almost hidden part of Essex.
t is not the easiest place to find as
David will confirm but once you are there and if you are a shellfish lover ,it is well worth the effort.
A
fter more oysters, and wine
for the non drivers, the enormous platter of assorted shellfish, smoked salmon and smoked mackerel was served up. In a short speech the President welcomed the members and guests and the feast began.
fellowship the visitors from Hornchurch and Upminster did a great demolition job on the food and all too soon it was time to depart.
W
parts of Essex, decided he would not chance the back roads to get home and chose the longer but safer route home via Colchester and Manchester whilst the wily President, who has been to these parts before, did manage the shorter but more precarious route without getting lost this year.
D A
