Project Focus: Cardiff Ffynnon Client Consultation Event
Cardiff Move On and Fynnon clients have participated in the projects first consultation event.
The event is designed to seek the views of clients on the quality of service delivery and was attended by clients from the two schemes.
At the meeting Involvement and Inclusion Officer, Matthew Kennedy, emphasised Gwalia’s commitment to deliver the best service possible by finding out what clients really need. Matthew spoke about a series of client events being organised by the group across south Wales and encouraged clients to attend.
Most of the clients who participated in the event said they were happy with the current admissions procedure and quality of support received from the service.

There were suggestions for parts of the Client Questionnaire to be reviewed to make it easier for clients to feedback on the quality of support received.
Suggestions made at the event are being reviewed and changes will be made to improve the quality of service we offer.
Project Focus: Janner House
Throughout February and March 2011, tenants from Janner House and related projects took part in weekly creative writing sessions hosted by Literature Wales/Academi.
These sessions were carried out by a different professional writer each week and enabled participants to focus their creative thoughts on various areas of their lives such as childhood, family relationships and hobbies. All tenants thoroughly enjoyed the sessions and received certificates of attendance and folders displaying their work. Below is just one example of the work completed, written by David:
Alone
I stand alone and wonder, sometimes I wish To be with my Mam and Dad, not as a visitor but as family. I need to stand alone, to have space, time on my own sometimes, I would like to see me Mam and Dad more, I would like to help them more, to be there in their old age, But that is not possible. Perhaps in time.
