Client Focus: Football Fanatics


Clients and staff have been busy arranging a number of football tournaments with other projects in their area. The first of which was held in April with similar events to follow in June July and August.


Spring started with a football frenzy on at Castle house on April 8th when clients and staff organised a Castle House Invitational 5-a-side Football Tournament at Hawthorn leisure centre, Pontypridd.


Six other Gwalia Care & Support Projects took part in the tournament: Janner House, Caersalem, Park View, Ombersley Road and Holton Road. This was the first 5-a-side football event to kick start a series of tournaments.


All clients and staff got involved with the promotion and fundraising for the first event. Team names were voted on and the Castle House Crusaders had a bespoke logo designed by a local graphic design agency that also sponsored their kits and trophy.


All teams played fantastically well and everybody had great fun. The clear winners were the Park View team, who won all of their matches apart from one which they drew.


Castle House ended the first tournament by hosting a buffet and a presentation of the trophy to Park View.
