Client Focus: Red Nose Day Celebrations

Friday March 18th proved to be a Red Nose Day extravaganza with a sponsored event held at Gwalia’s In2change project organised by Castle House residents and floating support clients.

Staff and residents took part in a sponsored quiz that Castle House support worker Geoff Bodman (aka Timmy Mallet) facilitated. Prizes included; activity days, food hampers, and pampering goods. Welsh cakes and Red Nose cupcakes were sold to raise money and went down a treat.

Project leader Rhidian Crompton from In2change had a sponsored leg waxing. Ouch! Support staff Anne Richards and Lisa Hocking were encouraged by residents to take part in a sponsored swim to complete 20, 25 meter lengths in 20 minutes. Both swims were successful.

Some even chose to come in fancy dress

It was my first week at

Castle House and I wanted to help fundraise for comic relief. All residents helped me settle in straight away and made me feel both part of the event and the project. I made new friends and it felt empowering to be part of an event like this to support to such a good charity. Kirsty

for the event to raise extra money; these went down a treat. Castle House resident Kirsty, dressed in her Pyjamas for the day and was sponsored by her friends and family.

A fun and memorable day was had by all and a big thank you! From Castle House to everyone who helped support such a worthy charity and raise the fantasic sum of £120.
