Gwalia & Me
At the start of the course I was using the compact camera that belongs to Parkview for my coursework and assignments, but after a while I felt restricted because I didn’t have a camera of my own to use.
Tony informed me that we could put in a funding bid to the Gwalia Trust to apply for a camera. A week or so had passed, then in the first week of December my camera arrived! To which I was delighted.
I’ve been doing the course for 7 months and I am thoroughly enjoying it. I am getting some excellent feedback from friends, family, support workers and my tutor who is pleased with the progress I am making. I’ve had several local bands asking me to take shots for Facebook pages and promotional material.
I’m nearing the end of the academic Garden Project
The Parkview garden project is well underway this year with a generous donation from a local business man who wishes to remain anonymous.
Residents and staff have spent a lot of time getting all the vegetables, fruit and flowers planted in time for the season to start. Hopefully by the summer we will be self sufficient enough to use our own grown vegetables and fruit in our "Come Dine with Me" activities.
Our local councillor Nigel Dix has been a great help in getting in touch with local council departments for their help with the project.
We would like to thank all involved and wish you all happy gardening!!

year now and I have the option of taking a second year in a slightly more advanced course.
Even though I was apprehensive about taking the course at first, looking back I am glad that I did and haven’t regretted my decision.
So to those at Gwalia, the Gwalia Housing Trust, my support worker, friends and family: I would like to thank you all for your support and encouragement.
