Correction from the August issue
In the last issue the photograph captioned Mil-R- Mor Roxette was in fact her legendary dam Glenridge Citation Roxy, the first Holstein to produce 10 Excellent daughters which eventually extended to 16. Roxette surpassed this total and one of her 17 Excellent daughters, Bond Haven Dixie Rox was imported to the UK by Alan Swale, of Joylan, Lancashire. This Ex93 cow produced 60 registered progeny, achiev- ing an incredible 66 stars as a brood cow. She bred 12 Excellent daughters, the most successful being Malcolm McClean’s purchase, Joylan Blackstar Roxie. Classified Ex93 she is a 39 star brood cow with 13 Excellent daughters in the Relough herd, County Tyrone. Her daughter, the Ex91 scored Relough Wade Roxie has bred 15 Excellent daughters and heads five generations of Excellent Roxy cows totalling 73 Excellent daughters. Back in Bob and Kay Miller’s Mil-R-Mor herd the Roxy’s have reached the 11th Excellent cows.
