for HYB members At the beginning of September a team of seven Holstein Young Breeders (pictured left) travelled to Battice, Belgium, to compete at the European Young Breeders School, (look out for a full report in the December issue). The team included Becky Robertson from

West Midlands, Matthew Williamson from Border and Lakeland, Isle of Man member Michael Kinvig, Steven Harris from Cornwall, North Eastern member Lizzie Miles, John Mclean from Northern Ireland and Marcus Doig from Norfolk.

The members were nominated by their Clubs and were then selected by HYB Co-ordinator Lynette Smale and Non Executive Director of HYB, Edward Griffiths. Explaining the selection process Lynette

said:“I take into account their skills in all areas of competition from clipping to showmanship and stock judging, but I also look at their attitude. I look for a rounded member that will be a good team player and represent HYB to their best ability.

At the end of October Emma Greenslade from Devon, Northern Ireland’s Mark Henry, Hannah Bown from West Midlands and Lancashire member Jonathan Woodhouse will be heading to compete in Cremona at the Italian National Show.

The Cremona team were selected at the HYB weekend rally where more than 200 members enjoyed socialising and competing in Devon. Holstein Young Breeders are greatly indebted to Semex UK for their sponsorship and continued support throughout the year.

HolsteinUK recognises team members For the first time, Holstein UK, CIS and CDI have recognised team members for their long service and dedication to Holstein UK and its subsidiaries, as collectively the Society has almost 500 years worth of service. On Friday 5th
