At TD, leadership means being a part of something that is bigger than yourself. We expect our leaders to help set this bank apart from all the others. We aspire to grow our business, but only in a way that allows TD to “keep its soul” and not at the expense of losing what has made us who we are. The Leadership Profile is lived here – through the actions, decisions and dialogues of leaders.

In a large and complex organization, you cannot assume people will learn the culture and values just by working here. We have made significant investments through our Build for the Future program to create the space for TD’s culture of leadership to be learned, discussed, explored and passed on to the next generation of leaders.

Over 1,500 executives have completed the course, with many modules taught by TD’s own leadership team. The program includes a two-hour question time hosted by Ed Clark, our CEO, which allows for a frank discussion on many topics, including culture, values and the bank’s actions and role in society.

The Leadership Profile and the Build for the Future program have helped create a shared understanding of leadership among all employees at TD. Although the CEO role is transitioning, we are assured that there will be continuity in leadership, strategy, culture and values.
