Steiner Spa Consulting to take spas ‘from dreams to reality’ Joint chiefs Jeff Matthews and Bruce Pine exclusively reveal depth of vision behind new consultancy SSC
UK: Steiner Leisure Limited, the world’s largest spa company, has announced the launch of Steiner Spa Consulting (SSC).
Headed up by joint chief operating offi cers Jeff Matthews and Bruce Pine, the new consulting division will have a global team of 40 full-time experts across the fi elds of business, education and operations. Describing SSC’s remit, Jeff Matthews said: “We are the only spa consultancy today that offers the breadth and depth of expertise and resources needed to take hotel spas from dream to reality. “With a portfolio of so many well-respected spa
brands including Mandara, Elemis, Bliss and Chavana, we are able to offer not only consulting but also the licensing of some of those brands and advice on best practice in creating a unique spa experience.” SSC is also developing the Steiner Spa Index, a predictive tool to assess the viability of spa projects that will be incorporated into its suite of services in the coming months.
At a time when spas are under increasing pressure to produce a return on investment (ROI), Bruce Pine

believes Steiner’s reputation for developing high- performance spas sets the new consultancy apart. “For over half a century, Steiner has built more than 200 spas around the world,” he said. “We have become the hotel spa specialist, but what really makes us different is that we take care of the owners’ money as if it was our own. We build spas that actually fi t with the hotel and produce an ROI that a hotel operator wants. Essentially, we build spas to last.”
