The Best Performance in Convertibility... WEST·BOND’s 7300E Pick & Place Systems

June, 2013

Kulicke and Soffa Extends Wedge Bond Power Series

Singapore — Kulicke and Soffa Indus- tries, Inc. has added to its highly suc- cessful KandS Power Series™ equip- ment. The Company’s new high per- formance Orthodyne wedge bonder, PowerFusionPS, is driven by a new powerful direct-drive motion system and expanded pattern recognition ca- pabilities which deliver exceptional productivity and performance. The PowerFusionPS fits well

into the company’s Power Series of products, known for setting new standards for productivity, perform- ance, advanced package capability, ease of use, configuration flexibility and reliability. PowerFusionPS provides in-

creased UPH enabled by the direct- drive servo system and faster pattern recognition find times. It also shows higher MTBA due to the improved pattern recognition. The advanced package capabilities improves the

processing of high-density power packages, due to an expanded bond- able area, wider leadframe capability and superior indexing accuracy and teach mode. The system is available in two

different models with single or multi- ple head configurations. The TL Model is the correct choice for bonding single-row to four-row matrix TO- power discrete packages. The en- hanced HL model is intended for ad- vanced power package designs. When bonding high density power devices, like SO-8 and PDFN, or stretching the wire limits on a matrix D-Pak, the su- perior indexing accuracy and clamp- ing capabilities of the HL Model deliv-

er consistent performance. Contact: Kulicke & Soffa Indus- tries Inc., 1005 Virginia Drive, Fort

Mill-Max Adds Long Stroke Connectors

Oyster Bay, NY — Mill-Max has added a second version to its 829 se- ries single-row, right-angle, spring- loaded connectors. The new connector, 829-22-0XX-20-002101, has an in- creased mid-stroke distance of 0.045- in. /0.090-in. full stroke distance (1.1mm/2.28mm) close to double most standard series products, providing more flexibility and tolerance. Both versions of the 829 series

provide an excellent solution for appli- cations calling for a spring-loaded con- nection that lies parallel to the PC board. These low profile, right angle connectors are suitable for the small packaging requirements of hand-held devices, especially where vertical space is limited. With tails bent at right-angles

and locating pegs on the insulator, the 829 series connectors are installed as through-hole components providing a secure connection to the PC board. These SLCs are suitable for hand, in-

trusive reflow or wave soldering. Gold-plated brass components

and beryllium copper springs ensure the highest conductivity, corrosion resistance and durability. The 829 series connectors have spring-loaded
