Nordson DAGE Launches New Jade FP X-Ray Inspection System

Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, UK — Nordson DAGE, a division of Nord- son Corporation, has launched its new and improved Jade FP X-ray In-

tion. The vertical system configura- tion, with the x-ray tube sitting below the isocentric “move and tilt” of the detector, all controlled through the simple, joystick-free, “point and click” operation of the company’s Image Wizard Software provides the safe and collision-free inspection re- quired for production applications. All these tasks can be simply and quickly automated without the need for programming skills. System specifications: <0.95µm feature recognition at all kVs; up to

160kV at 3W tube power; automated tube stabilization; 1 year tube war- ranty; 1,200X geometric magnifica- tion (3,100X system magnification); easy, collision-free, high magnifica- tion and high resolution inspection — even at oblique angle views; joystick- free “point and click” operation; max- imum board size: 29 x 22.8-in. (736 x 580mm) with reduced magnification; maximum inspection area: 20 x 17.5- in. (508 x 444mm); 65° oblique angle views for 360° around a point of in- terest; isocentric manipulator config-

uration keeps features in field of view; long lifetime CMOS digital de- tector with 1280 x 1024 pixels (1.3Mpixels); 10 fps full-frame “real time” image acquisition; real time image enhancements; 16-bit digital image processing; anti-vibration con- trol; 20-in. TFT LCD operator display monitor; Nordson DAGE Image Wiz-

ard operating software. Contact: Nordson DAGE, 48065

spection System. The new technology reportedly provides superior X-ray image quality for all X-ray inspection applications in the value-oriented market segment. The new system uses the latest

technology flat panel detector to pro- vide a cost-effective approach where high quality real time imaging is needed for production tasks. The open, transmissive x-ray tube togeth- er with the long-lifetime 1.3Mpixel CMOS flat panel detector makes this system provide the most cost effec- tive choice in terms of price and per- formance for the high magnification and high resolution real-time imag- ing necessary for electronics inspec-

Gore: New Acoustic Vent for Portable Devices

Elkton, MD — New from W. L. Gore & Associates, the GAW113 acoustic vent from the Portable Electronic Vents group is designed to provide dust and splash protection for acoustic openings in portable elec- tronic devices.

Acoustic vents for portable devices.

The new vents are a proprietary

non-woven composite material that adheres to the acoustic openings, providing a water spray efficiency of 90 percent with the ability to capture particulates as small as 5µm. The non-woven material used in the GAW113 is able to capture particles of various shapes and sizes because of its three-dimensional structure. It is also more likely to maintain con- sistent airflow because it captures particles in a torturous path that is

not limited by a specific pore size. Contact: W.L. Gore & Associ-
