Seica: Latest Flying Probe Technology

Strambino, Italy — Seica’s Pilot V8 is a a high speed flying prober that in- corporates innovative technology that offers maximum performance in test coverage and flexibility. The sys- tem’s vertical architecture is the op- timum solution for probing both sides of the UUT simultaneous- ly. This feature guarantees fast, precise, reliable and repeatable probing; it also allows for full availability of all the mobile re- sources for testing the UUT. The Pilot V8 is equipped

with 8 electrical flying test probes (4 on each side), 2 Open- fix flying probes (1 on each side) and 2 high definition cameras (1 on each side), and 2 power probes (1 on each side) for a total of 14 mobile resources available to test the UUT. The mobile power probes enable power up of the UUT without requiring any additional fixed cables, allowing easy implemen- tation of functional test. The Pilot V8 system with its for

dual-sided probing and advanced software tools outfit it for use in the repair environment to help bring faulty boards back into the supply chain and also to quickly diagnose boards coming back from the field. The system’s reverse engineering ca- pability allows for easy schematic generation of boards that are missing CAD, schematics, and net lists. The Pilot V8’s tools and tech- niques include: reverse engineering;

schematic generation; net list cre- ation; X and Y drill data creation for fixture builds; FNODE signature analysis on the nets of the UUT; standard analog and digital in-cir- cuit test; vectorless tests to test ICs for opens and shorts; PWMON net

analysis for power on the boards; continuity test to detect open tracks on the PCB; visual tests for compo- nent presence/absence and rotation; functional test and boundary scan test capabilities; on board program- ming tools for digital devices; ther-

mal scan resources. Contact: Seica, Inc., 50A North-
