Fastener Technology Innovator 2013 Competition

O RIV536 - Rivit Srl

Rivit Srl has launched on the market a brand new hydropneumatic tool for blind rivets, featuring an extremely small, rotating, angular head, which makes possible the installation of blind rivets in difficult to reach and blind-sided parts.

include a head that can rotate 360°( horizontal) and can be oriented in several positions from 0° to 180° (vertical), facilitating the installation of the rivet at any angle. When designing the new tool Rivit gave top priority to the small dimensions of the head, to ensure every

possibility of reaching confined spaces. This resulted in the sacrifice of the suction system of the mandrel. Consequently the rivets must be loaded manually and the mandrel is then expelled by force of gravity from the front of the tool, rather than the rear as is common.

IV536 can place standard blind rivets, all alloys up to diameter 4.8mm, and it is fitted with 4 nosepieces for diameters 2.4mmm, 3.2mm/3.4mm, 4mm and 4.8mm. Other features

4.E03 “This model complements the Rivit range of tools,

providing a satisfactory answer to all those who want a small tool offering extreme handiness and great versatility.”

s TOP Nautilus - Friulsider SpA s TOP Nautilus is the new Friulsider fixing system for

specialists, which is the result of five years of research and development in collaboration with many Italian and European institutes and universities.

riulsider states that the FM-X5® s TOP Nautilus reaches the highest

performances never seen before, with it being at the top of its category on all base materials: concrete, natural stone, aerated concrete, concrete block, bricks, and hollow bricks.

The FM-X5® s TOP Nautilus is suitable to be used in extreme temperature conditions,

up to -40°C, and always comes with a pre-assembled screw, for a fast and precise use. The anchor is made of an innovative compound of polyamides and additives, which has been

studied and developed using methods of synthesis that come from the latest nanotechnologies. The screw, with its double reduction and its asymmetric shape, generates the perfect expansion of the anchor. The screw is also covered with the special Friulsider ‘Nautilus’ coating, a patented treatment coming from the automotive technology, with a resistance in salt spray test that overcomes 1,000 hours. The synergy between the two components has been studied and simulated using complex FEM models and has been improved though sophisticated software of multi-objective optimisation.
