BGG UK’s green light

BGG UK will be showing its new 986K-LED lighting tower with a

specially developed 4kVA 1500rpm water-

cooled diesel engine from Kohler. It is claimed to use 60% less fuel and to produce 40% more light than a conventional 4 x 1000watt metal halide unit. Incorporating eight patented 250watt LED light heads producing 2000watts, the machine has a 120-litre tank and fuel consumption is said to be typically 0.8 litres/hour, giving a running time of up to 150 hours. The unit has attributes of the existing BGG 908P metal halide lighting tower, including a hydraulic mast and a fully bunded canopy, and ten machines can fit on to a 40ft trailer, thus reducing transport costs. The company says it will also be launching what it describes as a world first, in the form of RFM (remote fleet monitoring), with live demonstrations running throughout the Show. This allows operators to monitor and control equipment fitted with Deep Sea controls from any location in the world via a computer, laptop or smart phone.

Fairport focuses on service

The Show provides Fairport with the opportunity to update hirers on the latest products in its compaction machinery range, which now includes trench rammers, reversible plate compactors and single drum rollers, as well as single direction plates. Concreting tools and cutting equipment will also be on display, and the company will give details of the comprehensive back-up services and support it offers direct from its Sheffield factory.

Boss makes Space

Last year’s Show saw Boss Cabins launch its Big Space welfare unit, developed in response to feedback from end users who wanted a version that not only met on-site Health & Safety requirements, but also incorporated an office area. The company says that it has since seen sales grow steadily month on month, with customers reporting excellent hire returns. In fact, production of Big Space units equalled that of Boss Cabins’ standard Comfort Space models by the end of the year, according to MD Graham Stansfield. The Big Space has been engineered in order to achieve a well-balanced product with an overall weight of below 2000kg and which can accommodate ten people. It has VCA approval, is designed for easy towing and incorporates anti-vandal qualities. Graham Stansfield also reports that the recently established sister operation, Boss Plant Sales, is now an

approved dealer for Manitou forklifts and Bomag compaction equipment.
