New Bomag tandem roller
Bomag has chosen the Executive Hire Show to launch its new BW 120AD-5 tandem roller, which will be available in
the UK from mid-February. It is from the ‘dash-5’ range, designed to offer significant improvements over the models they replace in terms of performance and durability, with standard features including work lights, a flashing beacon, an electronic fuel gauge, an adjustable seat with arm rests and a central lifting point. The machine also has a three-mode vibration control that includes an ‘intelligent’ setting to automatically control vibration when the machine is moving.

New from CEMO Safe Storage is a range of fuel trolleys for the safe storage, movement and dispensing of petrol or diesel on site. They incorporate a tank measuring 100 x 59 x 43cm and are fitted with large 30cm diameter wheels with pneumatic tyres to cope with rough ground. A hand pump with an isolation valve is fitted as standard, together with 3m of hose and a nozzle that is bolted in place for transport. The Diesel Trolley can also be fitted with a 12V electric pump with 4m fly leads. The trolley is designed so that, at a 30° angle, the operator is supporting no more than 20kg at the hand grip, even with a full 100 litres of diesel, says the company. The petrol version incorporates military grade flame suppression technology, and a brush fill is fitted so that a potentially unsafe level of vapour pressure cannot be reached in the tank, meaning that, in the event of a fire, it will burn but not explode. The fuel container is made of a high density conductive polymer that can be earthed, using a cable provided, to avoid static build-up or sparking.

Loads of interest from Thwaites
Thwaites will promote its range of four-wheel drive dumpers with payload capacities from 1 to 10 tonne. Various skip options are available including Powerswivel, Hi-Tip and Hi Swivel models. Also in the line-up will be the pedestrian controlled Micro Dumper, which can accommodate a 330kg payload. This long established British manufacturer will also provide details of the new High-Power version of its popular 9 tonne front tipping dumper. This has been developed to meet customer demand, and Thwaites believes it will particularly interest those Show visitors who offer larger plant in their fleets. The new model is fitted with a Perkins 83kW turbo after-cooled engine which develops 111hp, compared with the 94hp rated standard version.

GreenMech set to celebrate
GreenMech will celebrate 20 years of British manufacturing at the Show by introducing its new Arborist range of hydraulic wood chippers to the hire market. The new series of 150mm capacity machines are designed for robustness and reliability, and come with a choice of diesel engines from Kubota, or petrol power units from either Honda or Briggs & Stratton. Sales Director Martin Lucas told EHN, “2013 is a fantastic milestone for us and we are very confident that our new range will appeal to a broad section of the grounds care industry, including local authorities, landscapers and estate maintenance contractors who are turning to hire in a bid to reduce their capital expenditure in the current economic climate.”
