Hobbyweld will display an increased range of rent-free industrial gas cylinders, having recently added
acetylene to the line-up. The company says this is the most popular fuel gas for general welding, cutting and repair applications owing to its high heat and burning efficiency, and it can be used for welding steel. Hobbyweld says that hirers could see strong demand for the gas, since acetylene is becoming increasingly difficult for small users to source. The canisters have industry standard connections to enable customers with their own welding sets to use them immediately.
As with other gases in the range, users are charged an initial deposit for the canister and then only pay for the gas to be refilled as required.

New lighting equipment will be among the latest products on The Hire Supply Company’s (HSC) stand. The 35watt LED Area Light is available as a compact mini pod, a single head tripod unit or in an ‘area illuminator’ configuration with three heads on a 3m frame. The lamp gives a 120° spread of light for broad coverage and can be run off 110V or 240V supplies. The IP65 rated units have switches on the back to avoid them being left on unnecessarily for long periods, and energy consumption is lower than that of conventional 500watt tungsten halogen lamps. HSC’s extensive heater range will be displayed, including Master direct and indirect fired models, infra-red oil units and electric fan heaters, along with HSC’s own Elite brand ceramic infra-red and halogen infra-red models. As in previous years, visitors can win prizes in an interactive competition on the stand during the two days of the exhibition, and special Show-only deals will be available.
