Your next steps

The Celebrating 40 Innovation Trail around the Show is as simple as the name suggests.

Feedback from Executive Hire Show visitors consistently shows that new products are top of the list of things they want to see. Indeed, this was recognised from the event’s very inception seven years ago, with the exhibition’s branding affirming the Show as the place Where Passionate Hirers Meet Innovative Suppliers.

As the 2013 Show is celebrating 40 years of hire industry exhibitions, the Innovation Zone format of recent years has been adapted into a Celebrating 40 Innovation Trail around the Main Hall and Top Tier. Exhibitors were invited to nominate products for consideration that have been launched since last year’s Show. Each selected exhibitor will be highlighted by a large floor tile, ensuring hire visitors simply cannot miss them. Just follow the Trail and assess the numerous products that best fit your business and future plans, and decide on those that will open new market opportunities.

As you follow the Trail, there will certainly much to enthuse passionate hirers. No fewer than five power tool manufacturers have successfully entered items for the Trail that are claimed to be world firsts in their fields. You will be amongst the very first to see them at first hand, all under one roof.

Nominated products include a powerful 11kg breaker from Bosch, a cordless gas-free framing nailer being launched by DeWalt, a battery powered combi hammer from Hilti, a 4-stroke disc cutter developed by Makita, and Stihl’s new 12in diameter version of its fuel injected cut-off saw. Also on the Trail is compact plant such as Wacker Neuson’s latest ET mini excavators, Manitou’s RT Series compact track loaders, and a machinery transportation solution

developed by Scotts Plant Hire. Also included are variations on popular types of products in hirers’ fleets, including high-efficiency tandem rollers from Ammann Equipment, and a road tow mixer from Altrad Belle.

Successful submissions were received from several suppliers of grounds care equipment, a perennially popular hire equipment category, including new machines from GreenMech, Groundsman Industries, and first-time exhibitors Pinnacle Power Equipment and Postpullers (UK). Trail followers keen to see the latest environmentally friendly equipment will see efficient heating and lighting launches from ArcGen Hilta, BGG UK, The Hire Supply Company, Air & Ground, Thermobile and Seddons, while important safety and security issues are addressed by products from DURO, Euro Towers, HTC Floor Systems, Parker Merchanting, and TowerLight.

Software developments on the Trail from inspHire and Jaama are aimed at helping hirers increase in-house efficiency, and workshop staff will be interested in initiatives like the interactive engine service manuals from Lombardini (UK). And products such as a compact pipe freezer from Freeze Master and a pumping kit from Obart Pumps are surely worth exploring to meet emergency demand following severe wet or cold conditions.

We can obviously provide only a brief summary here of the Innovation Trail products. The next step - quite literally - is to get to the Show and follow the distinctive floor tiles that will take you around the exhibition. You could find that the next must-have product for your hire fleet is right at your feet.
