“Following a year of such posivity, we had all hoped for a much needed boost to our economy to match the high spirits we were feeling as a naon. So, it was disappoinng from a general business perspecve that the economy stubbornly refused to shi, delivering negligible growth. At ArcGen Hilta we approached this year’s challenges with a can-do atude and evolved to meet new market opportunies.
“We saw increasing numbers of rental business moving away from the tradional method of purchasing goods to a more flexible rent- to-rent or rent to purchase model. Whilst this may only be short term, we have proacvely remodeled our operaons and diversified to cater for this shi in demand – something that, as a fih generaon family business, we’ve become adept at!
“Our strategy to build on our exisng trade in tradional market places was crical, but so too was our expansion into new markets. Spong these opportunies to grow and deliver bespoke soluons has not only led to significant contract wins but is creang new opportunies which we will be maximising in the year ahead – 2013 looks to be another busy year for our unstoppable NPD team. “Aside from product development, we have also invested in the
People power
At ArcGen Hilta, power is our business; so the people who make the cogs turn are central to what we do.
Over the past year, we have invested in our future with the appointment of our newest apprence Nick Tenn. The 17-year-old has joined the Wolverhampton team to learn alongside the experienced engineers refurbishing pre-owned onsite machinery before it goes on the resale market.
Focus has also fallen on business development, with two new managers appointed to bring specific experse and create opportunies in new markets. Marn Dickson now heads up development in the Hilta Pumps and Power Washer division, bringing in a wealth of experience from me spent at naonal hire companies HSS Hire, Godwin and Euroflo Pumps. We have also appointed Robin Parkin to lead development of the company’s market-leading range of lighng soluons and draw on his 30 years of experience in the industry.
With 2012 taking its place as a momentous year for Great Britain, Chris Morris, Chief Execuve of ArcGen Hilta, calls on business leaders to use the energy, passion and drive of the past year’s achievements to inspire UK businesses in 2013.

right technology to enable progress and developed a team who can deliver new ideas and outstanding world class products – bringing in both senior level managers and fresh young apprence talent.
“This investment in young blood, alongside our experienced team, ensures we offer the right blend of fresh thinking and proven experience and this strategy has allowed us to bring new concepts to market helping to diversify and expand our reach. “The UK economy will connue to be unpredictable as we move into 2013 and we should not be afraid to acvely evolve our business models.
