Designing, growing and harvesting herbs is much easier than you might imagine. An herb garden is the perfect garden for someone who doesn’t have a lot of time or space to plant vegetables and/ or ornamental perennials or shrubs. Sandy Parks, a professional landscape designer, will review how to grow, harvest and preserve them, and will discuss their many culinary uses that will enhance your everyday meals. She will also offer suggestions on the best books on cultivating herbs. Handout and recipes that you can serve at your next large gathering or for your family dinner will also be provided.

Gardening Tips for All Season “Gardening Tips for All Seasons” is a PowerPoint lecture class with Q&A opportunities for all attendees. The class is designed both for the avid gardener as well as for someone who is not a gardener, but who desires to create a new garden or needs tips to perform maintenance on an existing garden. The lecture includes what things should be done in our gardens throughout each of the 12 months of the year, plus information regarding soil preparation, mulching, planting trees, designing a garden, grouping plants, container gardening and reasons to use native plants.
