Children love this innovative drama class that develops their imagination and introduces them to the performing arts in a fun and creative atmosphere. Each week is a new and exciting adventure into the imagination with changing themes, music, costumes, props and playbills. They even learn a new joke every week. Kids learn theater terms, enhance spontaneity, build self-esteem and have a blast. Awards are given on the last day of class. Many themes are not repeated for two years, so “act” now!

NEW! Fairyland
Published children’s author and creative drama teacher, Marla Hohmeier, will work with participants to create and act out an original story that takes place in Fairlyland. Characters range from fairy kings and queens to night fairies, flower fairies and candy fairies. Each participant will create their own magical character and utilize as many ideas and suggestions as possible as the class develops the plot for our script-free, mini play. Imagination, listening skills, group interaction and spontaneity will be encouraged as we play improvised games with a fairyland theme each week. Participants will be responsible for providing their own costume. There will be a classroom performance on the last day.
