Open Gyms Open Gym
Get your game on! Practice your moves, meet your friends, prepare for leagues and stay active at the Recreation Center. Drop in for basketball, volleyball and badminton or take advantage of parent-tot times. No reservations are necessary or accepted for open gym programs. Courts are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Open Gym Schedules
Open gym schedules are updated the week before the beginning of each month and are available at the Recreation Center, 4500 Belmont Road, at Lincoln Center, 935 Maple Avenue and online at
www.dgparks.org.
Admission Policies Fees are collected at the Recreation Center registration counter.
There are three ways to purchase open gym times:
• Your Fitness Center annual membership includes free admission to all open gyms except batting cages and parent/tot gymnastics.
• Admission to open gyms is also available by paying the daily fee. • Downers Grove Park District residents can purchase a multiple use pass for badminton, basketball, volleyball and parent/tot gymnastics open gyms.
• Multiple-use pass expires one year from date of purchase.
Each paid admission allows entry into the gymnasium for one specific open gym program and use of the locker rooms adjacent to the gym. Open gym is a first-come, first-served program. Other areas of the Recreation Center may be used at an additional fee.
Residency Requirements
You must provide verification of residency within Downers Grove Park District boundaries to receive resident rates when you purchase passes or pay the daily fee. Without proof of residency, the Non-resident rate will be charged.
Wrist Bands
Each participant in any open gym program is given a wristband that must be worn during the entire open gym time. Wristbands show proof of payment and help Park District staff control the number of participants in the gym.
Childcare
Childcare is offered during many open gym programs. See page 12 for childcare information.

Courts are set up for singles and doubles play on Thursdays and Sundays. Both residents and non-residents may purchase a daily fee. Residents may purchase a multiple use pass. Play pass cards cannot be shared. Racquets and birdies are available.
