Natural Areas Far Out Frogs!


Spring is here and the frogs and toads are calling! Go froggin’ in the ponds at Lyman Woods to look for chorus frogs singing and American toads croaking. Put your frog-finding skills to the test as you hunt for a glimpse of these small critters with incredibly loud voices on an evening hike. Dress to go outdoors.

Boy Scout Saturdays Need help earning your merit badges? Our certified Merit Badge Counselors can help! Our Merit Badge Counselors guide you through the badge requirements and you’ll learn everything you need to know to earn your badge. Please read your merit badge book before the program and bring it with you along with your blue card signed by your unit leader. Dress to be outdoors, and bring a lunch, snacks, sunscreen and insect repellent.

Programs for Adults NEW! Beginner Beekeeping Workshop


Contemplating keeping bees, but don’t know where to start? Join Marge Trocki, a beekeeper with 36 honeybee hives, to learn the fundamentals every new beekeeper should know. You’ll start by learning the basics of bee biology, and although it’s winter, you’ll have a chance to examine the inner workings of our observation bee hive. Marge will coach you on how to get started in beekeeping, the equipment and supplies you will need, and the joys and challenges of managing a honeybee hive. Please bring a sack lunch.
