COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT THROUGH RECREATION ACTIVITIES


CITRA is a peer leadership group within the Downers Grove Park District. The group is open to any high school student who is looking to strengthen leadership and communication skills by planning trips, concerts, service projects and events for other high school students. ACT Practice Test


A practice test is crucial to ward off those test day jitters and predict how you may score on the real thing. Experience first-hand what test day is like. A representative from Kaplan will provide a proctored ACT practice test and scores will be returned to each student with analyzed results. Please bring a healthy snack and a drink, #2 sharpened pencils and a calculator. Wear comfortable clothing. Cell phones will not be allowed.

Are you ready to ROCK?! Come support your local musicians as teen bands perform LIVE throughout the evening in the Lincoln Center auditorium. All performing bands receive a portion of the admission fee from the night. Interested in playing for a packed house filled with local fans? Want to have the opportunity to build your fan base? Call 630.963.1300 by March 1, 2013 to have a chance to become a local legend. Performance slots are filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Doors open at 7:00 pm. The concert is supervised by Park District staff.

What is the greatest fear among people worldwide? No, it’s not snakes, spiders, heights or the dark. It is speaking in public. This class will help students overcome this fear. We will be getting out of our “comfort zones” and have fun with the gift of voice. Each student will practice the art of public speaking each day of class. This is a skill that will be required in school and in life. Michael Peterson, the instructor, is a Masters level certified teacher with 10 years of experience in Education.
