Glamour, spectacle and relaxation
Tese are the keywords for Dröm UK’s creative new range of lighting solutions for its bespoke saunas and steamrooms. Products include subtle lighting strips, optical fibre lighting linked to a projector outside the room and a variety of starry sky LED kits for ceiling mounting, or even traditional windows. Dröm UK can work with a spa, or the project architect/designed from the early planning stages. Each scheme is carefully designed to reflect how the client wants to use and enjoy the steamroom or sauna and considers both practical and aesthetic lifestyle issues. A remote control allows programming of the designed lighting system.

Asquith stretches out its range
Asquith London has been designing women’s natural fibre sportswear for 10 years, for women who “appreciate great fit, soft, feminine styling with soft, beautiful fabrics,” says founder Alice Asquith. “I aim to create ranges each season that women of all ages can enjoy, be comfortable in, treasure and love, that fit with their busy lifestyles,” she adds. Tis autumn/winter, Asquith has increased its collection made from bamboo, due to demand for this fabric which clients say is breathable, good quality and washes and wears well. New to the company is the tie-dye patterned, layered look, deliberately designed to be less sporty-looking and hence more versatile than gym-wear. It’s offered in five colours and available worldwide.

Icelandic beauty from KLAFS
Te first geyser bath in Germany has been unveiled at the renovated Carolus Termen spa in Aachen. Created by KLAFS, Te Strokkur, named after a 35m Icelandic geyser, can accommodate 20 people and features a column of steam which shoots to the ceiling and dissipates around guests. Werner Schlosser the head of the Carolus Termen spa explains
why they commissioned KLAFS to come up with something special: “We want to constantly come up with new surprises to maintain the attractiveness of our spas.” To recreate an atmospheric Icelandic vista around the brine and
steam bath, KLAFS has imaginitively used back-lit glass walls, a twinkling starry sky and two steam chimneys. Te effect is further enhanced by controllable steamjets and a cool colour palette of greens, blues and turquoise.
