To give your spa relaxation space a contemporary edge, consider a smoke-free fire installation from Polish design company Planika. Created by friends Alfred Weilandt and Jerry Dabrowski, Planika aims to take fire design to a new level of sophistication. Te pair create artistic, bespoke installations for spa clients around the world, with offices in Poland, the US and Dubai and sales teams around Europe. Te units simply need to be removed from the box, the fuel inserted and lit with a match. Because they are portable, spas can move them according to needs. Te fire will burn for between three and 10 hours depending on the design, which can include a freestanding ‘jar’, a traditional fireplace, a modern wall-mounted fire, a ‘fire line’ (pictured) or a fire set within a coffee table.

Flaming beautiful designs from Planika Planika’s patented bio ethanol fuel, called Fanola® ,
produces no smoke, no smell and leaves no ashes; its only by-products are carbon dioxide and water vapour in amounts comparable to human breath. It is a green source of energy and is renewable. Te burners use a temperature resistant glass cylinder and are equipped with a range of safety sensors. Tey also need no extra ventilation than is already available in a room. Both the burners and the fuel have been awarded international safety certification including German LGA, Swedish SITAC, European CE and the UL1370 from OMNI Corp and the company provides a 100 per cent safety guarantee providing the manual has been read.
